Dry with highs in the upper-70s today; cooler air for the Bronx through the weekend

Here’s what you need to know:
  • A HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK is in effect through Saturday evening. Life-threatening rip currents are likely at Brooklyn and Queens ocean-facing beaches.
  • COASTAL FLOOD ALERTS are in effect through Saturday in the city. The influence of a full moon, a storm offshore and an easterly wind is bringing up to 1-2 feet of inundation and widespread minor to moderate flooding near the waterfront, shoreline and low-lying areas at high tide in the city.
  • The dry stretch continues for another day. We're on day 12 with no measurable rainfall. Today will be dry with a blend of sun and clouds, with slightly warmer than normal temperatures in the mid- to upper-70s.
  • Cooler autumn air takes us through the weekend with windy conditions. Highs in the 70s.
  • It stays dry and unseasonably cool through early next week. It turns unsettled as we wrap up the month of September!
