Thursday marked at least the fourth time that police had been called to Dumbo for reports of human remains washing shore from the East River.
The Medical Examiner's Office confirmed to News 12 a fragment of a pelvic bone was recovered.
The office believes all the remains so far stem from one body.
The office says it believes the tides are responsible for continuing to wash remains ashore.
The discovery was a shock to those skating at a nearby ice rink.
"It's definitely weird, I hope the soul of those who were found are at rest, it seems like the East River is returning to its past reputation, which is no good," said Dumbo resident Lord Munjal.
The medical examiner says despite the multiple instances of the remains being recovered by police, it is not yet able to identify them.
