Masks are now required again in all Greenburgh town-owned buildings.
It comes as COVID-19 cases continue to rise. The rates are lower in Rockland and Sullivan counties at 4% and Orange at 6.8%, respectively. In Putnam and Westchester counties, it's close to 11%.
Masks were required by all in attendance at the Town Board meeting on Wednesday evening.
Town Supervisor Paul Feiner and the board decided on Tuesday that masks are now required inside all town buildings, including Town Hall, the library, courts and the rest of their properties due to the increase in coronavirus cases.
State data for the Mid-Hudson region shows that in the last month, the positivity per 100,000  went from 19 to 31, and hospitalizations from eight to 11.
Feiner says two town employees died from the coronavirus since the pandemic began, so they are taking this step to protect everyone.
When numbers go down again, the town says it will return to a mask-optional policy.
