A Kansas man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for sexually exploiting a 15-year-old in Orange County.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 36-year-old Curtis Ellington traveled to Orange County in April 2023. He stayed at the victim’s home overnight and enticed them to engage in sexual activity.
Ellington also sent numerous Instagram messages discussing his desire to engage in sexual activity with the victim.
The offense occurred while he was required to register as a sex offender, according to authorities.
Court records state that he was previously convicted of first-degree rape for sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl in January 2007. He served seven years in prison in that case.
In addition to his latest prison sentence, he has also been given another 15 years of supervised release.
