Man dies after shooting in Melrose

It is unknown what led up to the shooting, and there are no arrests at this time.

A man has died after being shot in Melrose.

Police say they responded to a 911 call about a shooting in front of 360 E. 161st St. just after 9:30 p.m. on Sunday. They found 34-year-old Javan Jones of Manhattan with a gunshot wound to the back. EMS took him to NYC Health & Hospitals/Lincoln, but he could not be saved.

It is unknown what led up to the shooting, and there are no arrests at this time.
