Man dead following 2-vehicle crash in Hempstead

A man is dead after a two-car-crash early Sunday morning in Hempstead.

Nassau police say it happened at 5:20 a.m. on Henry Street.

According to investigators, the 40-year-old man was traveling north on Henry Street in the vicinity of Albemarle Avenue when he crossed over the double yellow line and collided with a 27-year-old woman who was driving south on Henry Street.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. The woman was also transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

The circumstances that led to the crash were not immediately known.

Detectives had not released the identity of the victim as of Sunday evening.
