A dorm room was damaged by fire at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie earlier this week, Arlington fire officials report.

The blaze broke out on North Campus Drive, with Poughkeepsie's Arlington fire crews finding heavy smoke and flames on the second floor.

One person sustained a minor hand injury and was treated at the Poughkeepsie scene.

Investigators in Poughkeepsie determined a lithium-ion battery power bank charging a cellphone caused the fire.
