If you want to skip the roads for your Thanksgiving travel, the Long Island Rail Road will have some extra options for you.

There will be 11 extra eastbound trains leaving Penn Station today.
On Thanksgiving, the LIRR will operate on a weekend schedule with extra service before and after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
