LI Facebook group holds 'One Parent To Another' baby formula drive

Massapequa parent, Carmela Shimansky, one of the co-administrators of the "One Parent to Another" Facebook page, teamed up with the Town of Oyster Bay to hold a one-day drive in Marjorie Post Park on Sunday to help parents struggling to find baby formula.
"This is both give and take today. A lot of people are coming down, they want to trade off – they want to give us Infamil for Similac…We are more than happy to give you a can or two depending on how many children," says Shimansky.
According to Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino, "Moms have nowhere to go. This is a great way to come together... from one parent sharing with another."
In addition to this local effort to ease the baby formula crisis, help is on the way from Europe. The first shipment for "Operation: Fly Formula" is bringing more than 78,000 pounds of baby formula via military aircraft from Germany to the U.S. this weekend.
