Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-3) joined state officials and community advocates in West Haven in calling for the return and expansion of the monthly Child Tax Credit.

DeLauro, who expanded the credit in 2021 under the American Rescue Plan, is now pushing for the program to be made permanent and further expanded through her "Build The American Family Act." The proposed legislation aims to create a stronger version of the credit, accounting for inflation, establishing a baby bonus, and including more families.

DeLauro emphasized the importance of going "big" with the expanded credit, citing its potential to positively impact various issues simultaneously.
