A family run Brooklyn pizzeria is sticking to its old school roots while putting New York style pizza on the map.

Krispy Pizza has been a Brooklyn staple since 1969, with three generations running the business.

"My parents migrated from Sicily, from Palermo," said Freddy Palazzolo, co-owner of Krispy Pizza.

The business has since expanded from the original location in Dyker Heights to four more locations in New Jersey.

Palazzolo said his fathers original recipes haven't changed.

"We have a special dough recipe and its been the same recipe since my dad started the business," he said.

The business has also found success on social media drawing a massive following that highlights how it sticks to tradition and create new pies on the menu.

The restaurant is known for several pizzas including the Palermo pie.

"These are California tomatoes," said Palazzolo as he held up a freshly baked pizza. "Same tomato sauce for our regular pies but we leave these nice and chunky."

Palazzolo said they keep things simple, which may be the secret ingredient to success.

"You just have to put your heart in it, be consistent, love what you do because that matters a lot," he said.
