A Kingston police officer has been cleared of wrongdoing in a road‑rage shooting in Orange County.
The incident, which happened in Wawayanda in December, was captured on video. The footage shows a verbal dispute between Wallace Fisher and off‑duty Kingston officer Anthony Simon before the confrontation escalated. Police say Fisher lunged at Simon with a knife. Simon then shot Fisher, who survived.
Simon was placed on administrative leave while the case was reviewed. The district attorney has now determined that Simon acted lawfully and will not face charges.
