A Bridgeport Superior Court jury found a man guilty on Friday for the 2017 murder of Max Antoine.

Police said Shardel Ragin waited for the victim in his car outside of Tiago's Restaurant in Bridgeport, then fired his gun at him and another man.

“The jury was conscientious in working through the evidence to reach an appropriate verdict,” said Assistant State’s Attorney Mary-Caitlin Harding.

The victim's brother, Wilner Joseph, said he's grateful justice was served.

"I just want to thank everyone who has been supporting us for the last seven years. I want to thank my family, the community, and I just want to thank God," Joseph said. "No words can describe the feeling we feel right now. It’s just been a long hard seven years of fighting for justice for my brother.

Ragin faces a maximum sentence of 70 years in prison.

Sentencing in the case is set to take place next month.
