The Iranian leader accused of planning an assassination on Donald Trump has been killed, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced Wednesday.

Farhad Shakeri was killed in an air strike.

He was also charged with murder-for-hire in a plot against Iranian journalist Masih Alinejad.

Alinejad was supposed to speak at Fairfield University in 2024, but the event was canceled out of an abundance of caution.

A Brooklyn man was sentenced to 15 years in prison earlier this year for his role in the plot.
