The Department of Transportation is working on the I‑95 milling and resurfacing project this week—officials say it is expected to cause a handful of traffic delays and closures.

The project runs Monday through Saturday, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Work is being done on I‑95 North and South, between exits 9 and 10 in Stamford and Darien.

The project focuses on 1.4 miles of roadway in the center lane and is part of the DOT’s 2026 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

Drivers should expect lane closures in both directions and delays during the overnight hours. Transportation officials recommend seeking alternate routes.

The DOT and local law enforcement say there will be traffic control personnel and signs to assist and direct drivers.

Operators are reminded to reduce speed, stay alert and pay attention to signs in work zones to keep everyone safe.
