A big Juneteenth celebration was held Thursday in Putnam County.
It happened at Arts on the Lake in Carmel.
"To see it expand to what it is now, we're super excited," says event organizer Abigail Lyons.
This is the event's third year.
Organizers say it has grown each year since it started.
"This is the most meaningful event I've attended," says Putnam County resident Cassandra Oates.
Hundreds stopped by on Thursday.
"We celebrate the resilience of Black Americans, we celebrate the sacrifices that we have made, we celebrate coming together as a community," says event organizer Linda Paris.
Event organizers tell News 12 they plan to have more events and celebrations in the year's ahead.
