Friends and family came to remember the life of a 19-year-old Tarrytown teen who was the victim of a drive-by shooting.
Jessica Santos was a criminal justice student heading back to college in Connecticut. Many of her friends and family remember her warm smile and friendliness. Friend Andrena Robichaud was by her side outside a Yonkers deli when the bullet struck Santos in the chest. It is a memory that cannot be shaken from both her mind and other witnesses.
The suspected gunman, 17-year-old Anthony Burton, has been charged with second-degree murder and was arraigned at Yonkers City Court.
The tragic death has brought family and friends together in demanding the removal of guns from the streets and encouraging others to stay away from guns. Funeral services for Santos will be held Thursday at St. Teresa's Church in Sleepy Hollow.
