With temperatures expected to possibly reach the 90s over the next three days, the Hudson Valley is bracing for its second heat wave of the summer.

News 12 meteorologist Brysen Van Eck says the heat and humidity will reach dangerously high levels over the next two days, but he does not expect any thunderstorm activity. Van Eck says the region may avoid an official heat wave if thunderstorms cool down the region on Thursday.

Health officials are urging people to pack plenty of water and sunscreen if they expect to stay outside for any length of time.

Since many people are planning on staying inside, Orange and Rockland Utilities is predicting that today will set a record for an all-time electricity demand. Utility officials are asking customers to keep the air conditioning off if they aren't at home by setting a timer or clock thermostat.
