A Rockland high school basketball game was called off after a terrifying fight broke out in the stands.
Spring Valley High School student Carl langlois says he is still shaken by the fight that broke out in the stands as his school took on Pearl River Tuesday.
"There was a game going on and some of the kids got in a fight with knives and stuff like that, and they spread everyone off the bleachers." he said.
Spring Valley police say two 19-year-olds who were not students began punching and kicking an 18-year-old Ramapo student and a 19-year-old Spring Valley student.
Witnesses say the Ramapo student pulled out a knife to defend himself. School security quickly broke up the fight and confiscated the weapon before anyone was seriously hurt.
As a result, the game had to be postponed and rescheduled.
Clarkstown police say they aren't planning on amping up security for the upcoming Nyack-Spring Valley basketball game, but they are asking officers to keep an eye out for anyone involved in the incident.
Spring Valley police say they also aren't planning on adding security for future games, calling the fight an isolated incident.
Officials say the fight is still under investigation, but so far no arrests have been made.
Sources tell News 12 that the fight may have been gang-related.
