The incoming storm is expected to hit hardest in the Hudson Valley's northern counties, where highway departments prepping for the worst.
Putnam County could see up to a foot of snow overnight. When News 12 caught up with Putnam Valley highway crews Monday, their focus was checking maintenance on the department's 19 trucks.
"If we could take care of it now and make sure the truck is up and running and fully operational, it'll save us time and aggravation later on," says Putnam Valley Highway Superintendent Shawn Keeler.
Keeler said one of the biggest challenges they face is timing because Putnam will see a switch from rain to snow, so they won't be able to brine roadways. He said that crews will be relying on salt for this storm.
