High-speed crash in Greenwich leaves one person dead, another injured

Police say that just after 2 a.m. Sunday, an officer clocked a Lexus traveling about 50 mph in a 25 mph zone.

A person has died and another is in the hospital after a crash in Greenwich over the weekend near the Byram Shore Tennis Courts.

Police say that just after 2 a.m. Sunday, an officer clocked a Lexus traveling about 50 mph in a 25 mph zone. The officer said the car went through a red light at Delevan Avenue and Frontage Road.

A short time later, the car crashed and hit a utility pole.

The identity of the driver killed has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The passenger suffered injuries.
