The Hempstead woman accused of fatally striking NYPD Highway Officer Anastasios Tsakos on the Long Island Expressway in Queens has been indicted.

Jessica Beauvais may now face new or upgraded charges. The indictment was put on record by the judge Friday night.

Beauvais is facing a dozen charges including two counts of vehicular manslaughter, reckless endangerment, leaving the scene, driving without a license, DWI and DWAI.

According to court documents, Beauvais told investigators she smoked marijuana, drank wine and did shots of tequila before striking officer Tsakos.

As News 12 has reported, Beauvais hosted a two-hour long anti-police podcast hours before the fatal crash.

Beauvais' attorney made a brief appearance inside a courtroom Friday morning to say she would not be testifying in grand jury proceedings that are happening now.

Beauvais' family was also present, with video showing them leaving the courthouse.

Tsakos, a married father of two from East Northport, will be laid to rest next Tuesday.

It is not known at this time what charges are contained in the indictment. That will be revealed when the indictment is unsealed on May 12.
