Headlines: Yonkers attempted murder, bail for murder suspect, deadly hit-and-run

Here are some of the stories making headlines in the Hudson Valley.
A Yonkers gang member has been indicted on 12 counts, including attempted murder and robbery. Investigators say Luis Sanchez had a knife when he attempted to burglarize a Western Avenue home last April. A couple sleeping inside grabbed a legally owned gun, but officials say Sanchez used it against them, shooting the husband once in the stomach before taking off.
A New Rochelle woman is out on bail after allegedly attempting to murder her ex-fiancé’s new girlfriend. Police say Alika Crew snuck into the back of the victim's car and stabbed her from behind in the city of New Rochelle. The incident happened last July on Hillandale Drive. Responding officers say Crew claimed to be a good Samaritan at the time, but the victim identified her as the attacker.
A Yonkers man has been indicted in deadly hit-and-run crash. Pilar Dominguez-Leon is accused of running over Julianna Scott at the Chicken Island Daylighting Project last March. Investigators say he was driving drunk and lost control of his car at the New Main and Nepperhan Avenue intersection. The 44-year-old is now facing several charges including aggravated vehicular homicide and vehicular manslaughter.
