A cellphone explosion at a home for seniors prompted a response Monday from the Beacon Fire Department.
Firefighters say it happened on the second floor at Hedgewood Home for Adults.
The fire was put out and no one was hurt.
The Beacon Professional Firefighters Facebook page posted a picture of the cellphone and a reminder:
“We would like to highlight that lithium ion batteries can become extremely volatile when damaged, become wet, used improperly, charged with a low quality charger, or improper power source!”
