The New York Mets are back in Queens, kicking off the 2026 season with their home opener at Citi Field on Thursday.

Fans heading to the ballpark will have a few easier options to get there this season. The MTA is offering a $5 discount on train tickets for riders who also purchase a Mets game ticket. The deal can be applied by requesting the promotion at checkout, with a link and pre-loaded promo code sent through the TrainTime app on game day.

There are fewer parking spots at Citi Field this year as construction gets underway on the planned Metropolitan Park Entertainment District and Casino in the Citi Field parking lot. New this season, fans planning to drive can also save on parking. Pre-paid parking is now available ahead of time, allowing fans to secure a spot and save before arriving at the stadium. You can find more information here.

The Mets take on the Pittsburgh Pirates. First pitch is at 1:15 p.m.
