The Dutchess County SPCA took part in a
massive operation Tuesday to bring 140 dogs and cats from shelters in Louisiana
and Alabama to the area.
They say the animals were flown into New
Jersey Tuesday night because they could have possibly been euthanized if they
stayed in the shelters due to overcrowding.
The non-profit, no-kill shelter in
Dutchess tells News 12 they picked up four dogs and drove back to Hyde Park
where the animals will wait until they find their forever homes.
The rescued dogs will be available for
adoption at the Dutchess County SPCA soon.
