DOT: Inspection of Fire Island Inlet Bridge to cause reduced flow of traffic
The bridge was shut down briefly after a report that a piece of concrete may have fallen from the structure Sunday night.

The Robert Moses Causeway will be reduced to one lane on the Fire Island Inlet Bridge from 8:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., the state Department of Transportation announced.
Alternating flows of traffic will be controlled by flaggers while the bridge is inspected. It could not be completed on Monday due to the stormy weather.

The DOT says marine traffic should “continue to navigate towards the southern end of the inlet under the bridge and follow the direction of the New York State Park Police.”
