Former Rep. Mondaire Jones' attempt to regain his seat appeared to fall short to Rep. Mike Lawler.
The Democrat did not appear at any watch parties on Tuesday but the Rockland Democratic Party acknowledged his loss.
A spokesperson for the campaign said jones would not release a public statement until they have more information on the numbers.
As of 1:30 a.m., Lawler was ahead with 55% of the vote to Jones’s 43%.
