Some couples have been left in limbo as the Miller Place Inn announced that it is permanently closed.

John Gray and Jessica Calamusso were booked to get married Sept. 21, 2024 at the venue. They say all of their vendors were chosen and they had put around $5,000 toward their deposit when they got a letter in the mail from the Miller Place Inn dated Feb. 5 saying they were closing their doors on Feb. 1.

"The lack of picking up the phone and personally reaching to let a lot of people know - to just send a letter in the mail seems a little cold to me," Calamusso says.

An attorney for the venue says the pandemic hit the business hard and they could not financially recover.

Gray and Calamusso were able to rebook their wedding on the same date. They say they have no ill will toward the owners of the Miller Place Inn, but wish they had communicated better.

Brides of Long Island is also offering to help couples affected by the venue's closure find other places and recoordinate with their vendors.
