STORM WATCH: Tracking a major storm with 4 to 8" of snow for lower Hudson Valley

News 12 meteorologists are tracking a coastal storm could bring heavy snow to the region Saturday morning.
NOW: Frigid Thursday! Sun and some clouds this afternoon - near 30 degrees. 
NEXT: A few flurries or light snow showers tomorrow (low impact) ahead of a major coastal storm that will be a CLOSE CALL for the Hudson Valley in terms of more moderate to heavy snow. 
UNCERTAINTY: There is still an unusually high amount of uncertainty here with how much of this storm pushes inland for the Hudson Valley. There could be 4 to 8 " of snow in the lower Hudson Valley and decreasing amounts further west.   
TODAY: Frigid start. Sun and some clouds with highs around 29. 
TONIGHT: Mainly cloudy - a few flurries - lows around 24.
FRIDAY: Mainly cloudy - some flurries or brief light snow showers. Highs around 35. Lows around 16. Steadier snow moves in Friday night towards and after midnight. Becoming windy.
SATURDAY: Snow, heaviest south and east - snow will taper off late morning - early afternoon as things stand now. Highs around 23. Lows around 12. 
SUNDAY: Mainly sunny. Highs around 27. Lows around 14. 
NEXT WEEK: Still looking at a major warmup into the upper 40s to near 50 later next week.
