A new cafe in SoHo is blending food, color and art into one immersive experience inspired by Tokyo's pop culture.

Tokiodelic, described as part-cafe and part-art installation, is designed to capture the "kawaii" aesthetic. It's a style known for its bright colors and playful, cute imagery.

The space features 3D cat sculptures suspended above, vibrant neon decor and artwork displayed on a rotating conveyor belt once used for sushi.

"It's to show another Tokyo in New York, as a way to create movement and authenticity to the space," said general manager Steven Shikhel.

"We don't really have something like this in New York City," added Daniel Möwe of Tokiodelic.

Beyond its visuals, the cafe leans into interactive dining. Guests can paint their own desserts, customize dishes and try color-changing drinks.

Möwe said the goal was to bring a sense of play back into the dining experience. "As adults you kind of lose your time to play and be a child, so I wanted to bring that into the drink list," he said.

Tokiodelic is open Tuesday through Sunday.
