City mural project aims to beautify, inspire parts of Bridgeport

A city mural project aims to beautify parts of Bridgeport with inspirational art.
Brad Noble says he got his start painting 30 years ago. The Missouri native's craft has taken him to different parts of the country.
His latest mural on Seaview Avenue in Bridgeport features birds on a vacant building now colored a bright blue sky.
"Hopefully we bring some joy into this fairly grayed area of the city," Nobel says.
Each bird featured in the mural has a symbolic meaning, including a dove at the spot where a shooting happened.
"The dove is in a special spot - and that was a spot that a young kid was shot about 11 years ago," Nobel says.
The mural includes Connecticut's state bird, the robin, and then a cardinal, which Nobel says is a spiritual bird- he says its location was intentionally placed on the building closest to one of Bridgeport's hospitals.
The mural is part of a city beautification project that includes three different murals by three artists scattered across Bridgeport.
Noble says he will be finished in about a day.
The public is invited to help paint tomorrow from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Kids are encouraged to attend.
