Bronx man to be arraigned in fatal stabbing of girlfriend in Concourse Village

Rivas pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon and assault.

A Bronx man accused of stabbing a mother to death inside her apartment is expected to be arraigned on charges in court Monday.

The family of Yesenia Hall might get one step closer to justice when Juan Rivas goes before a judge this morning. Rivas accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death inside of their apartment back in February, with all of her kids present. Her son was even stabbed in the process.

Rivas pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon and assault.

Police say the incident happened back on February 28 inside of 956 Sherman Avenue. Police say all of Yesenia's three kids were home at the time and her 16-year-old son was brutally stabbed in the process.

The family says she fought for her life and so did her son, who was stabbed in the neck and back he survived. Right after the attack neighbors told News 12 they have heard commotion in the apartment before.

If found guilty, Rivas could spend the rest of his life behind bars.
