Briarcliff Manor saw major delays this morning after a tractor-trailer going northbound on State Route 9A hit the Pleasantville Road bridge.

The crash happened around 8:45 a.m., according to the New York state Department of Transportation.

The bridge clearance is a little more than 10 feet, and Village Manager Josh Ringel said it has had previous issues with taller trucks passing through.

Safwat Showqar, who works in the area, said he was stuck in traffic for "one hour, 55 minutes exactly."

The bridge at this time has been deemed safe by the Department of Transportation, but drivers may want to avoid the area.

The tractor-trailer was carrying auto parts.

Briarcliff Manor police confirmed the driver is facing several summonses, but did not specify what at this time.
