A woman was killed in a house fire in Rye overnight.

Firefighters rushed into the burning home on Midland Avenue just after midnight.

They say they found an unconscious woman and rushed her to the hospital.

She later died from her injuries. Her identity hasn't been released.

The woman's dog ran off into the woods, but was later coaxed by fire responders and turned over to the Humane Society.
