Village of Airmont Deputy Mayor Brian Downey was indicted Friday night on dozens of felony charges.

Rockland County detectives and federal agents searched Downey's home under a warrant after receiving information about a package intercepted at U.S. Customs that contained a firearm silencer.

They found over 100 firearms - the majority of which were illegally manufactured -- and numerous false federal law enforcement credentials.

The charges come as part of a federal, county and local investigation into the purchasing of illegal gun parts.
