Officials are urging residents to take steps to prevent "porch pirates" from making off with holiday packages during the busy delivery season.

The Westchester County Department of Consumer Protections recommends that online shoppers track packages to keep track of when they arrive.

Residents can also ask a neighbor to watch for their delivery.

Another option could be having a package shipped to an Amazon locker location. Those can be found in White Plains, New Rochelle and Mount Vernon
