Women's Small Business Month is fast approaching and one local organization is gearing up to help female entrepreneurs tackle their toughest obstacles.

Score Hudson Valley is a group that provides resources and mentorship to aspiring business owners. The group will be staging a one-day symposium at the Sonesta Hotel in White Plains next month.

According to a recent study, companies founded by women in the United States received only 2% of total venture capital invested in start-ups. Female owners also reported problems achieving growth and networking.

Many speakers from companies like MasterCard and TD Bank will share lessons they've learned at the summit.
