A new
study confirms that smokers are more likely to end up in the hospital if they
catch COVID-19.
The study, published in the British journal "Thorax,” tracked more than 400,000
people who battled the virus.
The study found that smokers who got COVID-19 were 80%
more likely to be hospitalized and are at much greater risk of dying.
However,
smoking did not increase the risk of them being infected with the virus.
