A chaotic scene broke out Thursday outside the Bronx Supreme Courthouse after shots were fired in broad daylight.

Police say the shooting happened at about 12:15 p.m., soon after dozens of people arrived at the courthouse. According to police, one person was shot and taken to Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center for treatment.

An investigation into what sparked the incident is ongoing.
