Authorities are warning the public about a new scam in Newburgh.

Newburgh police say they were recently notified of a person posing as a police detective looking to install cameras for people due to increased criminal activity.

The department says that person is not an officer.

Officials want anyone with additional information on this case to give Newburgh police a call at 845-561-3131.
