A historic house built by the Rockefeller family was torn down Wednesday.

The house stood at 43 Willard Ave. in Pocantico Hills dating back to the 1930s.

It was one of six homes in a cluster development built in the early 20th century.

Residents strongly opposed the demolition, but the owner appears to have moved forward with plans to build a new house.
