Long Island students got to show off their technical skills in a robotics competition in Floral Park Sunday.
FIRST Long Island and Sewanhaka High School hosted 40 teams around Nassau and Suffolk in a special robotics competition, all to promote STEM education.
The mission of FIRST is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills.
Sewanhaka High School qualified for the Long Island Regional Championships scheduled for March 12 and will also take part in this year's NASA TechRise challenge.
