Drivers may be paying for the new Tappan Zee Bridge, even if they never cross it.
According to the New York Post, documents sent to Washington reveal that the Thruway Authority plans to finance the bridge by "system-wide revenues collected on the thruway system."
That means all thruway drivers will be picking up the tab, not just on the bridge.
Just last month, Gov. Andrew Cuomo repeated a promise not to raise tolls on the thruway to pay for the bridge.
The governor and Thruway Authority officials have noti given concrete answers about the possible toll hike.
