A Putnam County sheriff's investigator was struck by an SUV while directing traffic.

It happened at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday night on Route 6 in Mahopac.

Officials say the investigator was rushed to the hospital to be treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.           

The accident is currently under investigation by the Town of Carmel Police Department.
