Police say a man was shot multiple times in the chest and legs in Poughkeepsie on Sunday.

Detectives say the incident happened in the area of Du Bois Avenue and Smith Street around 2 p.m.

They say the victim was rushed to the hospital in a police car.

Authorities say they found nearly two dozen shell casings.

Police say they believe the victim was targeted and is expected to survive.

No word on any suspects.
