Police say they believe that a body found Tuesday in Yorktown died by suicide.

The man, who was in his mid-30s, was found on North Deerfield Avenue.

Officials believe that he died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police are waiting for a ruling from the County Medical Examiner's Office.

Tuesday's investigation led to the closing of a section of North Deerfield Avenue for several hours.
