A firefighter has been hospitalized after being hurt while responding to a house fire in Newark.

The fire at the Clinton Avenue home began just after 2 p.m.

Newark’s fire chief says the firefighter was injured when part of the home collapsed while the crew was at the scene.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
