It was a Christmas wish come true for one Orange County family who was able to celebrate the holidays in their new home, thanks in part to News 12.

Earlier this month, the Rider family from Mount Hope reached out to News 12 while living in a travel trailer for weeks without electricity in their newly built home.

News 12 reached out to Orange & Rockland to help get their power turned on. The family was able to move into their home on Christmas Eve.

A representative for O&R says after learning about the situation, crews stayed on site with the contractor to make sure there were no further delays for the home to pass inspection.
