A Middletown man is dead after an early morning shooting in New York City.

The NYPD got the call from hospital staff at NYC Health & Hospitals/Harlem around 2:35 a.m. today.

Investigators say that's when 31-year old Tamel Jackson-Breland came in with a gunshot wound to the back.

They say the victim came in via private means. Further investigation revealed the victim was shot in front of 230 West 140th St.

So far, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
